MAUREEN ANN O’BRIEN

P. Eng.

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Maureen Ann O’Brien who died on November 30, 2021, in St. Catharines, Ontario. Maureen was born in St. John’s, NL. She graduated as a mechanical engineer from Memorial University of Newfoundland in 1991. She worked in her field in NL, the NWT, and Calgary before moving to a job in the car industry as a HVAC engineer in St. Catharines, ON. Her greatest loves were her two boys Micheal and Sean, and her devoted husband Kevin Brown. Despite a difficult diagnosis of breast cancer, through sheer determination and with Kevin always at her side, she calmly persevered through many, many treatments in order to spend as much time as possible with her family that she adored above all. Maureen was known for her friendship, kindness and helpfulness. Her knitting and crocheting projects were shared far and wide. She was a good friend to many and the best wife, mother and sister ever. She leaves a wide circle of friends in St. Catharines as well as family and friends in NL, Quebec, and Ontario. We are thankful for her care at the Walker Cancer Clinic and to the nurses who were so kind and for Dr. Yalamanchili. Her spirit will live on with her two amazing teenage boys who have inherited her kind heartedness. In her memory give someone a hug and be kind to one another. Donations may be made to the Walker Cancer Clinic or to a charity of your choice. Private funeral arrangements have been made.
