JEAN ELIZABETH WANSBROUGH

May 19, 1934 November 26, 2021

Betty passed away peacefully at Belmont House on Friday, November 26. The daughter of the late Harold and Jean Lawrence and predeceased by her brother Bill. Survived by her husband of 64 years, Chris; daughters Susan (Bob), Jane, and Ruth (Fergus); grandchildren Katie, Michael (Kate), John (Meredith), Jamie (Kim), Trevor (Ana), Huston, Henry, Pearce, Colin and greatgrandson Nico.

Betty was born in Toronto, grew up in Brampton, was educated at Havergal College and received her RN while working at the Toronto General Hospital in Toronto. She was an active volunteer at the ROM and the Garden Club of Toronto. Later on, she became a successful real estate agent at Martin & Meredith.

She was happiest when the family was all together, spending winters in Mulmur and at the St. Andrew’s Club in Florida, and summers at Eastbourne. Betty will be remembered for the kindness, happiness, and laughter she shared. Her laugh was infectious. She had a sparkle in her eye and loved a good prank.

The family would like to thank all the wonderful caregivers on 2W and 5W at Belmont House. A very special thank you to Vione, who made Mom smile every day and gave her comfort when we could not see her during the height of the pandemic. A private family service has taken place.
