L’Oréal Paris has opened nominations for its 2022 Women of Worth program. Each year, this philanthropic initiative selects 10 Canadian honorees whose volunteerism at home and around the world strengthens communities and inspires others. Each is awarded a $10,000 grant to be used in support of their nonprofit cause. Nominations are open until Dec. 23 and are available in English, French, Arabic, Cree, Chinese, Objibwe and Punjabi. Two Toronto art galleries are hosting festive initiatives to bring art into the home. Paul Petro Contemporary Art (paulpetro.com) is celebrating its 25th annual edition of Christmas Spice, an event that was founded on the idea of offering original artwork for lower budgets, allowing people to acquire or gift a piece of art at a variety of price points. This year, the gallery has commissioned local artist Barbara Klunder to outfit the same tree the event has used for the past 25 years, and the artist has created a series of hand-embroidered gift pockets that can be filled with a small gift or hung on a tree. And The Plumb (theplumb.ca) is hosting its “plumbraiser 2.0” auction of contemporary artwork. This year’s edition takes place entirely on the gallery’s Instagram page @the_plumb, where bids can be made from Dec. 4 to 20.

Harry Rosen and Masai Ujiri, the Toronto Raptors vice-chairman and president and founder of Giants of Africa, have come together for the second Humanity capsule collaboration. This 10-piece collection includes hoodies and matching sweatpants, T-shirts and a merino sweater, with a donation being made to community partner Water First Education & Training Inc. Toronto-based women’s fashion brand Sidia has added a pair of candles to its offerings. Known for its kaftans and loungewear sets, Sidia has introduced what it’s referring to as “scent therapy” through two different scents: Wired, an energetic blend meant to be used in the mornings, and Braless, a warm, woodsy aroma to unwind with. In creating the candles, which feature a blend of vegetable and coconut wax and a lead-free cotton wick, Sidia founder Erin Kleinberg was inspired by her work launching personal style website The Coveteur, where she regularly visited the homes of global tastemakers and learned that each had their own take on home fragrance.
