KO OPENS WITH 63 AT BOCA RIO

Lydia Ko continued take steps toward the top of women’s golf again on Thursday with birdies on half of her holes for a nine-under 63 and a two-shot lead over Danielle Kang in the Gainbridge LPGA at Boca Rio. Aditi Ashok (66) was alone in third, followed by a group of players at five-under 67 that included Canadian Maude-Aimee Leblanc. At the PGA’s Farmers Insurance Open in San Diego, Adam Schenk, Jon Rahm and Justin Thomas are tied for the lead at 13 under after Round 2.
