STUART THOMAS ROBSON

Stuart Thomas Robson, Professor Emeritus, Trent University. On May 20, 2023 in Victoria, BC, surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by his parents, William and Ellen; and his beloved wife, Wendy (Moir). Survived by his loving wife, Mariel (Grant); cherished daughters, Jennifer, Kate, and Molly Anne; sons-inlaw, Claudio Crespi and Sean Jensen; grandchildren, Matthew and Daniela Crespi and Maggie-Lis and Grace Jensen; sister, Marilyn Webber; and a loving extended family. Born in Vancouver, July 13, 1940, Stuart graduated from Lord Byng High School and University of British Columbia. Awarded the Rhodes Scholarship for British Columbia (1962), he obtained a doctorate in History from the University of Oxford in 1966 and joined the faculty at Trent University, Peterborough, Ontario. A true scholar and exemplary teacher, Stuart was unwaveringly kind and gentle and had an irreverent sense of humour. Private cremation. Celebrations of remembrance of Stuart’s life will be held in Victoria and Toronto this summer. Arrangements, First Memorial Funeral Services, Victoria, BC.
