ROBERT ROSE

It is with heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Robert “Bob” Rose, on Monday, May 15, 2023. Beloved husband of the recently deceased Kathy Rose. Dear son of Rose and Charles Rose. He will be missed by family: Irene Evans and her daughter, Joanne; her granddaughter, Mariella; friends: Jim Reaveley, Dave Pearson, Wendy Torresin, Jackie (the late Hugh) Alford, Dorothy (the late Alan) Butler, Nancy Pearson, Kathy and Rod Goodes, Judith and John Mitchell, George Johnson, Robert Beder; and many golfing buddies. Bob was an amazing golfer with a smooth swing. He learned to play the game at Oakdale Golf and Country Club. He was the Head Professional at Beverly Golf and Country Club for 20 plus years, a 50 plus year “Class A” member of the PGA of Canada, a 3 times Canadian Seniors’ Champion, winner of more than 140 tournaments and held 11 course records. One of these was a spectacular 57 on his home course. He influenced two generations of golfers through his teaching and by example. A Celebration of Bob’s Life will be held on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with the Memorial Service at 12:00 noon at Circle of Life Cremation and Burial Centre, 100 King Street East, Dundas, ON (additional parking at the Air Force Club). Interment will follow at Woodland Cemetery, 700 Spring Gardens Road, Hamilton, ON. Contributions in Bob’s name to your favourite charity would be appreciated.
