JAMES HAMILTON PRENTICE MAIN

June 7, 1933 December 1, 2021

At Sunnybrook Hospital. Jimmy lived a full and happy life. Born in Scotland he came to Canada with his family in 1969. He is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia and his family: Fiona and Patrick, George and Lissa and five dearly loved grandchildren, Robin, Mark, Devyn, Katie and Alexander. A Professor Emeritus at the University of Toronto, Jimmy had a brilliant, academic mind and was recognized internationally in his field of Oral Pathology and Medicine. He also headed the Dental Department at Sunnybrook Hospital for over 30 years. Jimmy loved his farm, woodworking, reading, golf, and cryptic crosswords. But he most loved spending time with his grandchildren, his family and his dogs. He will be sadly missed by us all. A Celebration of his life will be held at Glenview Presbyterian Church, 1 Glenview Avenue, Toronto on Friday, December 10th at 10:00 a.m. Registration and live links will be available at Glenviewchurch.ca closer to the date. All those attending must be double vaccinated. No flowers please, donations to the Sunnybrook Foundation appreciated (Sunnybrook.ca).
